Albert Gouveia (Al), age 84, passed away on the evening of January 4, 2026, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Born on August 30, 1941, Albert lived a full and generous life defined by love, faith, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Albert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alfreida Gouveia, and their children Keith Gouveia, Brian Gouveia, Desiree Hiner and Jarrod Gouveia. He was a proud grandfather to Alexander, Elijah, Isaiah, Piper, and Madison, and a delighted great grandfather to Zakarias.
Albert built his career in the electronic technology field as a semiconductor technician, where his dedication and skill earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. He also served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps alongside his best friend, Steve Hirabayashi, receiving an honorable discharge in July 1967.
Known for his warm smile and friendly spirit, Albert made lasting connections wherever he went and never made an enemy. He cherished the time with his grandchildren, and often taking random road trips to enjoy the scenery and create memories that will be treasured for generations. A man of deep faith, Albert relied on God’s guidance throughout his life and devoted himself to living out the commandments of loving God and loving others. Additionally, he also supported several charitable organizations, including his favorite the Wounded Warrior Project.
Albert was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a steady rock foundation for his family. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, his humor, and the joy he found in music, family, and celebrating life with others. We take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his parents and joyfully singing, dancing, and making music with his loving big sisters Mary, Lucy, and Ludy.
Albert will always be loved, remembered, and deeply missed.
