Carlo Jensen

January 28, 1943 — July 28, 2012

Carlo Anthony Jensen, age 69, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Hospice House of Coeur D'Alene, ID, due to pulmonary complications stemming from his hard-fought battle with cancer. Carlo was born January 28, 1943, in Sidney, MT, to Walter Jensen and Mary Jensen (Micheletto). As a youth Carlo attended parochial school, worked hard on his family's dairy farm, raised Cain with his brother John, and teased his sister Mary Annette mercilessly. After graduating from high school in 1961 Carlo moved to Seattle, found it not to his liking, and returned one year later. He studied locally at Dawson Community College, and then went on to Kinnman Business University in Spokane, WA. Carlo persuaded the love of his life, Paula Strom, to join him. They married in August of 1964 in Sidney, MT, and thus began their life together. Carlo's varied careers included credit bureau management, auto dealership management, business management, auto dealership ownership, personal real estate sales, shopping center management, and most recently, commercial real estate. During his career Carlo achieved membership in the Chevrolet and Toyota Business Management clubs, earned the Chrysler Dealership Award, received the International Council of Shopping Center-CSM designation, attained the CCIM award, and achieved the Twenty-Five Million in Sales award. Carlo's career path wound geographically as well, and at times he called home Sidney, MT, Great Falls, MT, Englewood, CO, Spokane, WA, Colville, WA, Billings, MT, Helena, MT, Flagstaff/Prescott, AZ, Coeur D'Alene, ID, and most recently, Post Falls, ID. Carlo pursued life with a spirit of adventure and gusto. He was an avid fisherman of both the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Carlo enjoyed boating, rafting, skiing, snorkeling, and off-road ATVing. He loved gardening, going sightseeing for waterfalls, and travels abroad including Mexico, Italy, Greece, and Spain. As passionate as Carlo was for his hobbies, it did not compare to the passion he had for his family. He was never happier than when he was on an adventureor just spending timewith his wife, children, and grandchildren. Carlo was a living lesson of fierce loyalty and love for family Carlo's battle with cancer was inspiring. Given just months to live after his initial diagnosis, Carlo approached his illness as he approached the other aspects of his life: With courage, forthrightness, and an indomitable will. Served well by these characteristics, he lived almost ten more years and strived to pack every bit of that time full of adventure and family. Carlo is survived by his wife Paula; his children Michael (Susan), Matthew (Rose), and Heather (Ben); his grandchildren Kaitlyn, Gresch, Maximillian, Slade, and Sofia; his step-grandchildren Jessica, Bobbi, and Victoria; and his siblings John and Mary Annette. Memorial donations on behalf of Carlo may be made to the Hospice House of Coeur D'Alene. Carlo Jensen. Love for Family. Lust for Life.
