September 14, 1940 — May 2, 2026

Post Falls

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Norraine Workman, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Carol left this world on May 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her four children. Her passing marks the end of a life filled with compassion, strength, and countless cherished memories.

Born on September 14,1940, Carol was the cherished daughter of William and Hazel Hoskins. She was preceded in death by her brothers Donald Hoskins and Richard Hoskins. She is survived by her favorite sister, Janet Hanneman of Newman Lake, Washington and brother, Jody Hoskins of Soldotna, Alaska.

Carol's journey was one marked by dedication and love. After graduating from Clark Fork High School, she pursued her passion for nursing at the Sacred Heart School of Nursing. For over 40 years, Carol served as a pediatric nurse, nurturing and caring for countless children. Her career was a testament to her kind heart and her unwavering commitment to helping others.

In 1962, Carol married the love of her life, Gerald Workman, with whom she shared a beautiful journey until his passing in 1984. Together, they raised four children: Jeffrey Workman of Spokane, Michael Workman (Jennifer) of Spokane, William Workman (Michelle) of Spokane, and Gina Stebbins (John) of Post Falls.

Carol's legacy is lovingly carried on by her eight grandchildren: Raychel Bean (Tyler) of Deer Park, Ciarra Kelsey (Tyler) of Deer Park, Victoria Douglass (Klinton) of Spirit Lake, Vanessa Stebbins of Post Falls, Michael Workman of Spokane, Lauren Workman of Spokane, Max Workman of Spokane and Ashley Haccou (Wyatt). She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Carter Bean, Cooper Bean, Madison Kelsey and Stanley Haccou, who brought her immense happiness.

Carol found joy in nature, especially tending to her flowers. Her love for travel led her to Hawaii, where she cherished precious moments with her friends and collected jewelry as tokens of those unforgettable trips. She was also an enthusiastic fan of the Seattle Mariners and Gonzaga Bulldogs. Above all, her greatest joy came from her grandchildren, who held her heart more than anything else.

Carol's family and friends will remember her as a woman of great character—stern yet gentle, always ready to listen and offer a kind word. Her loving and kind nature touched everyone she met.

A private ceremony will be held to honor Carol's remarkable life, as per her family's wishes. In this quiet farewell, we celebrate a woman who lived her life with grace, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Carol's name to a children's charity of choice, continuing her legacy of caring for the little ones she held so dear.

The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bob and Kathy McVey, Carol’s neighbors of more than fifty years. Their friendship, watchful care, and unwavering kindness were a constant source of comfort and support throughout Carol’s life. They were not just neighbors—they were family.

As we bid farewell to Carol, we hold onto the memories she created and the love she shared, knowing that her spirit will forever remain a guiding light in our lives.
