Carolyn Blanche Hull, 77, passed away peacefully at home on September 6, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and people who will forever carry a piece of her in their hearts.

Carolyn was born on December 24, 1948, in Culver City, California, to Marie Georgette Hargis and Francis Dean Bales. She began her adult life married to Greg Gerard, and together they welcomed two children, Joseph Gerard and Michelle McDonald. Her children would remain an important part of her heart throughout her entire life.

Carolyn spent seven years as an Air Force wife, living in California and Japan. Those years brought adventure, change, and experiences that became part of the story of the woman she would become. After returning to California, Carolyn began working for the Automobile Club. Through hard work and determination, she advanced to become a claims adjuster, building a career and a life she could be proud of.

In 1990, Carolyn married Curtis Hull. Together, they created a beautiful life centered around the things that mattered most to them: family, friends, music, dancing, boating, laughter, and simply being together. When Curtis retired, they made their home in Custer, Washington, where they continued to build a life filled with memories and surrounded by the people they loved.

Carolyn had a way of making people feel welcome and cared for. She was gracious, generous, and deeply loving. She didn't need grand gestures to show someone she cared; her love was often found in the little things—in her presence, her kindness, a conversation, a shared laugh, or simply knowing that she was there.

Family was at the center of Carolyn's heart. She loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her family was one of the greatest joys of her life. She leaves behind not only memories, but generations of people who knew her love and were shaped by it.

Even during her illness, Carolyn remained the same gracious and loving person she had always been. Her circumstances never took away her kindness. She continued to give love, even when she was the one who needed care. That quiet strength and tenderness is something her family will remember and carry with them always.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curtis Hull; her stepson, Michael Hull; and her parents, Marie Georgette Hargis and Francis Dean Bales.

She is survived by her children, Joseph Gerard and Michelle McDonald; her stepchildren, Susan Jorski and Leslie Dulac; and her siblings, Jim Bales, John Bales, and Barbara Bales.

She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren—Joshua McDonald, Jessica Asselin, Amanda Dunton, Chelsea Dutton, Simon Dulac, Andrew Dulac, Thomas Dulac, Jonah Dulac, Elizabeth Dulac, Christina Jorski, Michael Jorski, Katherine Johnson, Mike Hull, Caroline Hull, Kimee Hull, and Aidan Gerard—and 20 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and many Life-long friends.

To those who knew Carolyn, her absence will be felt in countless ways. It will be felt at family gatherings, in quiet moments, in familiar songs, in memories of dancing and boating, and in all the little things that once included her.

But most of all, Carolyn will live on in the people she loved.

Her children will carry her love.

Her grandchildren will carry her stories.

Her great-grandchildren will carry her legacy.

And all who knew her will carry the memory of her gracious heart.

Carolyn's life was not measured only by the years she lived, but by the love she gave and the lives she touched. She gave her family something that cannot be taken away—the feeling of being loved by her.

She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and always loved.
