Dale Edwards Martin, born on September 29, 1952, in Eugene, OR, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, in Post Falls, Idaho, at the age of 72. He was the beloved son of Mel and Peggy Martin who fostered in him a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a practical, straightforward view of life. Dale spent much of his career with the Department of Lands in Idaho, where he demonstrated his knowledge and love for nature and forestry. Starting his journey in Orofino, Idaho, he made his way to Boise, where he dedicated about ten years of service. Dale finished his career at Priest Lake Idaho, where he combined his professional life with his love for the beautiful landscapes of Idaho. His academic accomplishments included earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry Technology from North Idaho College on May 16, 1975. While Dale wasn't known for sentimentality, those who knew him best appreciated his dry wit and ability to make people laugh often unexpectedly and always memorably. He had a sharp sense of humor that remained with him to the end. An outdoorsman through and through, Dale found solace in the woods. Hunting, fishing, and foraging weren’t just pastimes they were a part of his identity. His best days were spent deep in nature, sharing those quiet moments with family or relishing them alone. He is survived by his four children: Kayla Bloom, Angie Farmer, Bryon Martin, and Keenan Martin, who remember him not only for the complexities of his character but also for the laughter he brought into their lives. He is also survived by his brothers, Allen and Jack Martin, as well as several nieces and great nephews. Dale’s life was imperfect, as all lives are. But it was real. And in remembering him, his family honors the whole person flawed, funny, fiercely independent, and, in his own way, unforgettable. |
