Daniel "Danny" Tolentino Reola

October 14, 1960 — October 3, 2025

Greenacres, WA

Danny was born on October 14, 1960, in San Juan Rizal, Manila, Philippines. When he was six years old, his family moved to Hawaii where he later met his beloved wife, Pauline, in 1985, while she was working as a nanny. They were married in St. Charles Borromeo Church, in Pauline’s hometown of Philadelphia. While there, Danny, passionate about cooking, attended culinary school and supported his family working as a chef.

In their search for a solid Catholic education for their two eldest boys at the time, Danny and Pauline found the SSPX and began attending the Traditional Latin Mass. In 1997, still in want of a Traditional Catholic school for their children, they made the decision to move to Post Falls, and, now with three young boys, drove from Pennsylvania to Idaho. Blessed with four more children, they established their family there and remained parishioners of Immaculate Conception Church. After the move, Danny began his career as a truck-driver and enjoyed taking his children with him on various trips across the States.

Shortly after the birth of their youngest son, Pauline was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2006 and died two years later at the age of 41, leaving behind her husband and seven young children. Danny, a true fighter, worked hard to raise his family, providing for them as best he could. His children are forever grateful for the undying love, sacrifice, and dedication he poured into their upbringing. Danny remained ever devoted to his wife throughout his life, visiting her grave weekly, always bringing fresh flowers.

During his life, Danny enjoyed many different activities like hunting, trucking, driving his Challenger, and expanding his gun collection; but he was especially fond of cooking for his family. His beef stew and teriyaki chicken are among the favorites that will be missed. What he cherished most in this life was his Catholic Faith. He was especially devoted to the Holy Rosary. He often emphasized to his children the importance of staying true to yourself as a Catholic while living in this ‘valley of tears’. Among his last words were: “Never give up the fight, the fight for your soul.”

In February of 2023, he was diagnosed with advanced colon cancer. After courageously battling his cancer for nearly three years, Danny died peacefully in his home, surrounded by family.

He is preceded in death by his wife Pauline (2008), and his parents Benjamin Sr (2021), and Lilia (2025). He is survived by his siblings, Benjamin Jr, Susan, Arnold and Melo; his children, Jacob, Luke, Philip, Maria, Vincent, Anthony, and Mario; and his grandchildren, Ben, Jaceon, Jaina, and Ezrah.

The Reola Family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Fr. Dreher and Fr. Pons, and all the priests of the priory; to Beacon Cancer Care and its staff; to Danny’s Hospice nurses, Ashley and Melissa; and lastly to all those who offered their prayers and support to Danny and his family in his final days. A Novena of Masses is being offered for all of you.
