Derek Foremans

November 12, 1978 — April 30, 2026

Derek Dean Foreman, 47, of Spokane, Washington, passed away on April 30, 2026. Born on November 12, 1978, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Derek lived a life filled with many challenges. Those who knew him understood that he struggled with substance abuse and spent time in prison, but that was never a reflection of who he truly was. He worked incredibly hard to get his life back on track and made many significant changes over the past few years, of which we could not be more proud.

Derek valued hard work and perseverance. His most recent career was with Coeur d’Alene Windows, where he excelled as a detail-oriented professional. He embraced the challenges of his work and took immense pride in his role. Derek’s commitment to his craft reflected his determination and strong work ethic.

Above all else, Derek cherished his family. He is survived by his father, Don (Patty) Foreman; mother, Rose Foreman; fiancée, Bethany Austin; wife, Sara Smith; children, Natosha, Chelsey, Aliyah, and Breanna; and nine beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Donnie and Joe. Derek was preceded in death by his stepmother, Teri Foreman; brothers, Cody Foreman and Dusty Foreman; and grandparents, Donald Dean Hall, Gloria Mae Schmidt, and Don Glenn Foreman.

Derek’s family was the center of his world. He took immense pride in being a father and grandfather, always going above and beyond for those he loved. Whether attending every event for his children or offering help even during his own personal struggles, Derek’s selflessness knew no bounds. His unwavering support ensured that those closest to him never went without.

In addition to his devotion to family and work, Derek had a vibrant personality that shone through in his hobbies. He found joy in playing guitar loudly through his amps and speakers, installing sound systems in cars, getting tattoos, creating drawings, and listening to music that resonated with him. His love for dogs—especially Charlie—was another testament to the warmth he brought into the lives of others.

Derek’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who knew him. Taken far too soon, he leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and generosity. Though he would not want us to grieve, but rather celebrate the life he lived so fully, his memory will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

May Derek Dean Foreman’s memory bring comfort to those who loved him deeply.
