Our dear Dorothy Olive Condos passed from this life on April 24, 2025 in Post Falls, Idaho. Dorothy was born on December 7th, 1935 to William Leslie Cunningham and Olive Alice (Odell) Cunningham in Akron, Colorado. She was the youngest of five children: Jane Aspey; Betty May; Scott Cunningham and Robert Cunningham; who have all preceded her in death.
The Great Depression was still in full swing and contributed to many moves in Dorothy’s childhood: Phoenix, AZ; Corona, CA; Roswell, NM; Harlingen, TX; Albuquerque, NM; Riverside, CA. Although her family moved frequently, she was a very good student and received certificates for her achievements. Dorothy’s first job was with the Motorola Company in 1955 for 10 months as a secretary. She was a great typist.
She was a member of the Riverside Church of Christ and attended regularly. Dorothy fondly remembered the first time she saw a young airman, named Tom Condos at church; she said “he really caught her eye.” Tom also “felt sparks” and the two begin courting and married just 6 months later.
Dorothy Cunningham married Tom Condos on October 22, 1955 at the Church of Christ on Ninth and Lime in Riverside, California. They were married 65 years, when Tom passed away. Many beautiful love notes were written to each other in those years. They had a love that held strong and they truly cherished their marriage.
Dorothy was a lifelong, faithful Christian at the Church of Christ, supporting Tom as he was a deacon and later, an elder. She also served the Lord by teaching Bible Class for children. She was devoted to her family and was a homemaker for most of the childrearing years. Dorothy also enjoyed working as a teachers aid for a elementary school in Manteca, CA.
The Condos family lived in various homes in California: Highland Park, Riverside, Redlands, Victorville, Bishop, Calimesa, Manteca, Apple Valley, Hesperia. Dorothy and Tom’s final move together was to Idaho.
Survivors: Son Thomas L. Condos and wife Diana Condos; Daughter Cindy Ford and husband Gene Ford; Daughter Cathy Quinn; Grandchildren: Jenny Rogers and husband Timothy Rogers; Tom Condos and wife Amanda Condos; Shawna Hoff; Tim Hoff and Aydan Quinn. Great Grandchildren: Quinton Rogers, Weston Rogers, Brenton Rogers, Peighton Rogers, Kerston Rogers, Theo Condos, Cooper Condos, Milo Condos.
