James Everett Huston was born October 27th, 1942, in Artesia, California to Everett and Margaret (Varner) Huston.  After graduating from California State College of Long Beach with a Master of Science degree, Jim worked his way for 28 years to the position of Assistant Director of Environmental Health with the Orange County Health Department.  Loved by his wife of 23 years, Terie Huston, children, and grandchildren Hollie, Bryan, Allie, and Willow.  Also survived by many cousins and other family members.  He leaves behind his cherished black Labrador Maddie.  Jim passed at home peacefully surrounded by his wife, family, and friends on December 27th in Post Falls, Idaho.

Jim lived in California most of his life until moving to Utah.  In 2014 Jim and Terie moved to Idaho to be near their children and two young granddaughters.  He spent a lot of time in Baja California where he was instrumental in starting the first volunteer fire department in San Felipe.  While in Baja, he enjoyed off-road dune buggies and motorsports.  Some of his other interests were RVing, boating, fishing, magic tricks, and singing with Mariachi Bands.  In recent years he enjoyed vegetable gardening.  Jim was always first to help his neighbors and those around him.

A private celebration will be held followed by a graveside service at a later date.  Jim will be laid to rest next to his parents in Brea, California.
