Jath Tobin “Toby” Brown, age 66, passed away on October 4, 2025. Born and raised in Spokane, Washington, Toby was the beloved son of R. Alan Brown and Jean Brown. He graduated from University High School in 1977, earned his Associate of Arts degree from the Community Colleges of Spokane, and continued his studies at Eastern Washington University.
Toby was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jana. He leaves behind two cherished children, Julia Jean (JJ) Brown and Richard Alan (Rick) Brown II. He is also survived by his brothers, Travis and Ty; nieces, Randi and Casey his nephew, Seth; andhis great nieces and nephews.
Toby enjoyed an active life filled with adventure and the outdoors. He found joy in dirt bikes, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and boats, and was an avid skier, golfer, and bowler. Above everything else, Toby treasured time spent at the family cabin on Hayden Lake. He was happiest when surrounded by friends and family at the lake, creating memories of 4th of July fireworks, fishing, swimming, endless BBQ’s and bonfires on the beach and the wonderful network of families that made up the community at Henry Point in Hayden Lake.
In recent years, Toby joined the welcoming community at *One Church, where his life will be celebrated on Monday, October 13, at 2:00 PM.
Toby will be remembered for his devotion to family, his zest for life, and the warmth he brought to those around him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who loved him.
