In Loving Memory of Larry Gene Pearcy
Larry Gene Pearcy, 81, passed away on October 17, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Larry was born in Winnsboro, Louisiana, and grew up in Garden Grove, California. He later moved to Palmdale, California, where he spent 30 years building a life and career before retiring to Hayden, Idaho, with his beloved wife, Sue Pearcy.
Larry dedicated 30 years of his career to Northrop, where he served as crew chief for the B-2 Bomber. He took pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and willingness to lend a helping hand. After retiring to Idaho, Larry continued to stay active in his community. He became involved with the Alano Fellowship Hall and volunteered at the Bird Museum. He also volunteered for a short time at Kootenai Hospital, where an unexpected friendship would bring new joy and adventure into his life.
After Sue passed away in November 2018, Larry faced a difficult chapter in his life. During his time volunteering at Kootenai Hospital, he met Judy. As they got to know each other, they discovered a shared love of adventure and the outdoors. Together, they purchased a Side by Side and joined the Back Country ATV Club, opening the door to new experiences, exciting rides, and wonderful memories.
Judy became a bright light in a difficult time for Larry, bringing companionship, happiness, and new adventures when he needed them most. His family is deeply thankful that Judy came into his life and helped bring more laughter and joy into his days. The happiness they shared and the memories they made together will always be appreciated.
Larry didn't just love adventure - he lived for it! He was always ready to do something new, try something different, or head off on an unexpected adventure. His motto was, "Buckle up, I want to try something!" Those words perfectly captured Larry's fearless spirit, his curiosity, and his enthusiasm for life. Whether he was riding his Side by Side, spending a day at the lake on his pontoon boat, fishing, going for a drive to enjoy nature, playing pool, or enjoying a roller coaster, Larry was always ready for the next adventure. He also enjoyed building Legos, showing that his curiosity and creativity extended well beyond the great outdoors. He had a way of making ordinary days memorable and reminding everyone around him that life was meant to be lived, enjoyed, and sometimes approached with your seat belt securely fastened!
But more than his career or accomplishments, Larry will be remembered for the kind of man he was. He was hardworking, caring, funny, and someone who loved everyone. If you needed help, Larry was there. He was the kind of person who would do anything for anybody, never hesitating to lend a hand or offer support. He had a generous heart, a great sense of humor, and a way of making people feel welcome. Above all, he loved his family with all his heart, and they were his greatest pride and joy.
Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sue, in November 2018, with whom he shared 50 wonderful years of marriage; his older brother, Luke; and his brother-in-law, Eddie. Sue and Larry built a life together filled with love, family, and countless memories. Their bond was an important part of Larry's life, and the love they shared will always be a treasured part of his story.
He is survived by his two children, Jason and Gina, and his son-in-law, Mark; his seven grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler, Joshua, Kaiylee, Aaidyn, Hunter, and Jaden; his three siblings, Tom, Marty, and Rusty; and his two sisters-in-law, Patricia and Joanne, whom he had known since their teenage years. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will cherish their memories of him.
Larry leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, laughter, adventure, and unconditional love. He taught those around him the importance of showing up for others, helping whenever he could, enjoying life's adventures, and cherishing the people who matter most.
Though his family and friends will miss him more than words can express, they can take comfort in knowing that the memories he created, the lives he touched, and the love he gave will never be forgotten. His laughter, generous spirit, and unmistakable enthusiasm for life will live on in the stories shared by those who loved him.
Heaven gained a good man, and the world is a little less bright without him.
Until we meet again, Dad, may the rides be smooth, the fishing be good, the roads lead somewhere beautiful, and the adventures never end. And knowing you, you're probably already buckled up and ready to try something new.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten.
