Marian A Gentry

Marian A. Gentry, affectionately known as "Red," passed away peacefully in her home on May 5, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on October 10, 1951, in Spirit Lake, Idaho, Marian was the beloved daughter of Wallace Reinhardt and Alma Lucille Lau (Reinhardt).

Growing up in the scenic landscapes of Northern Idaho and Washington, Marian developed a strong bond with nature and a deep appreciation for animals. In 1988, she moved to Nevada, where she met and married her late husband, Rick Gentry, who passed away in 2014. Together, they came back to North Idaho in 1995 and created a loving family and a lifetime of memories.

Marian was known for her vibrant personality, her generous heart, and her sharp wit. She was a woman of great strength and independence, always quick with a joke or a kind word. Her feisty spirit and stubborn determination endeared her to all who knew her. Marian's love for her family, friends, and pets, including her beloved dog Baron and cat Wiezie, was boundless.

She is survived by her daughters, Tina Long, Tammi Ahrens and her husband Scott, Tonya Cooper and her husband Michael, Cory Gentry and his wife Jill, Whitney Gentry, Cami Nelson and her husband Chuck, Rikki Gentry, Sally Ketron, and Josie Gentry. Marian also leaves behind 29 cherished grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, along with her sisters Renee Patterson and her husband Ray, Judy Lingle, and her brother Paul Reinhardt.

Marian's legacy is one of love, laughter, and resilience. Her memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Kootenai Animal Shelter, in honor of Marian's passion for animals.

A service will be held to celebrate Marian's life, on June 9, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Q’emiln Park. The family extends their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time of mourning.
