Michael Taylor McManus, 63, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully with family at home on October 17, 2025
Born on March 20, 1962, in Killeen, Texas, to Anna and Ronald McManus, Mike grew up with a deep love for creativity, skateboarding, and getting into trouble.
A talented artist with remarkable skills in painting and airbrush, Mike shared his passion as an art educator at North Idaho College, inspiring many through his creativity. He also enjoyed working alongside his son at his body shop, where he helped with prepping and painting cars—combining his artistic eye with hands-on craftsmanship.
Known for his eccentric personality and bright spirit, Mike loved life and always saw the best in people. He carried an infectious positivity and a “can do” attitude that uplifted everyone he met.
When he wasn’t creating art, Mike could often be found outdoors—kayaking, biking, or walking around Post Falls. He cherished time spent sharing a drink and laughter with friends and loved ones at the American Legion. His love for comics and music reflected his creative spirit.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Rivera; his brother, Patrick McManus; his children, Kyle McManus and spouse Gina, Dan Harned and spouse MacKenzie, Michelle Rivera and spouse Andrew, and Monica Alvarez and partner Ana; his niece and nephew, Sofia and Jacob; and his grandchildren, Aviana, John, Noah, Olivia, James, Hannah, Addy, and Charlotte.
He will be remembered for his laughter, generosity, and unwavering belief in the goodness of others.
