Pauline A. Lattemann Mills, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on January 15, 2026, in Post Falls, Idaho, at the age of 97. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 25, 1928, Pauline's journey through life was marked by her unwavering kindness and welcoming spirit that endeared her to everyone who knew her.

Growing up in New York, she spent her formative years across Long Island and Staten Island before embarking on a new adventure by moving to California in 1943. Pauline nurtured her love for education and graduated from Los Angeles City College, eventually obtaining her degree from UCLA in 1954. She embraced her professional life with passion, dedicating herself to recruiting for Greyhound in Palo Alto, California, until her retirement in 1993.

In the tapestry of her life, the threads woven by family were the brightest. On February 11, 1956, Pauline married Kenneth Warriner Mills in the scenic San Juan Capistrano, California. Together, they built a life rich with laughter, love, and cherished memories. Pauline's devotion to her family was unmatched; she had a profound love for gardening, traveling, and even camping, with each moment dedicated to nurturing and cultivating her relationships. Her kindness was not just a trait, but a legacy that will be forever remembered.

Pauline was actively involved in her community and various organizations, contributing her time and energy to the Van Nuys Jr. Chamber Wives, as well as the Christian Science Churches in both Palo Alto and Roseville, California. Her compassionate contributions were a reflection of her gracious character.

She leaves behind a loving family who will carry on her spirit: her daughter, Leslie Lewis and her husband Thomas Lewis of Post Falls, Idaho; daughter, Dana Mills-Helman and her husband Dale Helman of Salina, California; and son, Spencer Mills and his wife Alice Mills of Reno, Nevada. Additionally, she is survived by her daughter-in-law, Linda Rungwerth of Roseville, California; daughter-in-law, Paula Calma of Twin Falls, Idaho; son-in-law, Gary Gullow of Whittier, California; and an impressive legacy of 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, along with 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

Pauline A. Lattemann Mills leaves behind a heartwarming legacy defined by love, compassion, and family. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
