Rebecca "Becky" Fisher

Rebecca “Becky” (Thompson) Fisher, 46, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, in the arms of her husband and mother, surrounded by family and friends who loved her deeply.

Becky was born on April 1, 1980, in Forest Grove, Oregon, to Dale and Dianne Thompson. She grew up in Brigham City, Utah, and graduated from Box Elder High School. She earned bachelor’s degrees in special education and elementary education from Utah State University, followed by two master’s degrees—completing her second while battling cancer. She devoted her career to serving students as a middle and high school special education teacher.

Becky married the love of her life, Curtis Fisher, on August 12, 2004. During their 22 years of marriage, they built a life centered on faith, family, service, laughter, and adventure. Together, they raised four wonderful children: Logan, Hannah, Isabella, and Sage. Being their mother was Becky’s greatest joy and most important calling.

Service was simply part of who Becky was. Even during the most difficult days of her illness, she continued to smile when people entered the room, ask how they were doing, and look for ways to help them. She had a gift for making people feel noticed, valued, and loved. Becky worked hard, played with her children, created lasting memories, and brought fun, kindness, and balance wherever she went.

Becky was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her testimony of Jesus Christ shaped the way she lived, loved, served, and faced adversity. Her family finds peace in knowing that death does not end their relationship and that, through Jesus Christ, families can be together forever.

Becky faced Stage IV breast cancer with extraordinary strength and grace, but her illness never defined her. She remained a devoted wife, mother, daughter, teacher, disciple of Christ, and friend. She endured more than anyone should have to endure, yet she continued to show courage, tenderness, and concern for others.

Becky is survived by her husband, Curtis; their children, Logan, Hannah, Isabella, and Sage; her parents, Dale and Dianne Thompson; her loving parents-in-law, Gary and Ina Fisher, who cherished her as a daughter; her siblings, Laura and Shane; and many extended family members, friends, students, and coworkers whose lives were made better because she was part of them.

A memorial service will be held on September 12, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse, located at 1824 East 16th Avenue in Post Falls, Idaho. Following the service, friends and family are invited to stay for an informal gathering to share memories and spend time together remembering Becky.

Becky’s life was far too short, but it was full of purpose. She loved deeply, served freely, and left behind a legacy of faith and compassion that will live on through her family and everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was—and will always be—deeply loved.
