**In Loving Memory of Richard B. Foraker**

Richard Bruce Foraker, affectionately known as "Carp" or "Mudman," passed away peacefully at his home in Rathdrum, Idaho, on April 20, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on June 2, 1951, in Peoria, Illinois, Richard was the cherished son of Daunt Foraker and Barbara Dawson. He spent his formative years in Hanna City, Illinois, where he crafted a life filled with adventure and love.

A proud veteran, Richard served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from August 1970 to August 1972. After his service, he dedicated his career to Hewlett Packard as a Contract Buyer from 1978 to 2002, later pursuing his passion as the owner of R & D Construction from 2002 until his retirement in 2013.

Richard's journey took him across various landscapes, from Idaho to Florida and even Hawaii, reflecting a life rich in exploration. His love for the outdoors was profound; he found joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time with horses. Whether it was bow hunting in Lolo Pass or angling in the beautiful waters of Jameson Lake and the coasts of Kona, each moment was a treasured memory.

Above all, Richard was a devoted family man. He is survived by his beloved daughter Amanda Hays and her husband Mike, alongside siblings Diana Salazar, Larry Foraker (and wife Mary), Shirley McKay, and Jim Foraker (and wife Sheryl). He was also an adored uncle to nine nieces and nephews who will carry on his legacy of kindness and love.

Richard had a vibrant spirit and a gentle soul. His intelligence, humor, patience, and strong work ethic endeared him to all who knew him. He was a dedicated fan of baseball, particularly the St. Louis Cardinals, and shared countless memories traveling with his brother Steve to catch games. His passion for reading, especially on topics of war history and Nez Perce history, showcased his curious mind.

While Richard was once married to Kay "Kitty" Foraker, their bond remained strong, underscoring a deep friendship that lasted well beyond their marriage.

Most importantly, Richard cherished his daughter Amanda, from whom he derived immense joy and purpose. He willingly made sacrifices, including relocating to Spokane, Washington, so she could pursue her figure skating aspirations—a testament to his unwavering love and support.

As we reflect on Richard's life, we celebrate a man who found pleasure in building, traveling, and creating lasting memories. His gentle presence, lifelong friendships, and love for his family will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched.

Richard B. Foraker will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
