Richard “Dick” Menti passed peacefully and surrounded by love on June 29, 2026. Dick was a loving husband, father and friend. He always put the needs of others before his own.
Dick was born to Max and Madeline Menti on October 15, 1940 in Klamath Falls Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Janice Adolphson. He spent most of his young life in Montana, a place that held a special place in his heart. He graduated from Great Falls High school and proceeded to get his teaching degree at Western Montana College in Dillon. He played football for Western on scholarship and started the wrestling program at Beaverhead County High School.
His passion for coaching and teaching would take him to Post Falls High School, where in 1975 he became the athletic director. He retired in 2002 from the Post Falls School District as the maintenance director. He will always be remembered for the impact he made on the staff and students over these years.
He and his wife Sharon exemplified an example of love, marriage and family that is unmatched. He loved to tinker around the house and yard, which was always immaculate. He loved camping and the outdoors, especially trips to the Oregon coast. He and his wife attended Real Life Ministries. He lived and loved a faith built on their Lord and Savior. Dick and Sharon were married June 18, 1960, and just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.
Dick is survived by his wife Sharon; his daughter Wendy Coltrap and spouse Lance, his son Rich and spouse Michelle, his son Mike and spouse Terri, and son Todd and Spouse Marci. He had 12 grandchildren; Kylie, Keynan, Kortnee, Kolton, Austin, Rhyan, Mandi, Brayden, Brooklynn, Tanner, Taylor, and Lincoln, and 6 great grandchildren; Kallaway, Adeline, Topper, Truett, Rella and Zion.
The family would like to thank all of our friends and family for their love and support, also the amazing care he received from Hospice and the Schneidmiller House who loved and cared for our beloved one in his last days.
A celebration of life will follow in the early Fall to celebrate the life of this extraordinary man.
