Roger F. Bafus, 87 of Post Falls, Idaho went to be with his heavenly father on Saturday, July 18, 2026 resting peacefully in the loving arms of his family. Born on April 28, 1939 in Endicott, Washington. Roger brought an abundance of joy and vibrant sense of adventure into the world in 1957. He proudly joined the United States Navy filled with a useful eagerness to explore the world and serve his country which he did for 26 1/2 years. In 1963 his life was blessed when he met Joanne Taylor together they poured their hearts into raising three beautiful daughters, who became the absolute light of his life, Marcella Bafus Connolly - (Mike), Ingrid Bafus Watson and Erika Bafus in later years Leslie Grenier joined the family and became his fourth daughter. Later in life Rogers heart expanded even further with new love and happiness when he met Dianne Mumau in 2004 and married in 2006 he warmly embraced her children, Melanie Jones Schulte - (Robert) and Keith Jones, as his own together, they built a beautiful blended partnership, rooted in deep devotion, unconditional kindness, and a shared passion for their growing family and grandchildren, and great grandchildren Rogers last duty years began in 1977 and he retired in Moscow with 26 1/2 years serving in the US Navy. Rogers was a deeply loved, familiar face in Moscow, Idaho a community He happily blessed with his warmth and neighborly Spirit for 56 wonderful years. he was well known throughout the area for his gentle reliability, quick smile and generous character. Eventually, he and Diane relocated to Post Falls Idaho to be closer to their families. Roger enjoyed local hockey and baseball games. Roger will always be remembered as the heartbeat of their outdoor adventures, radiating happiness while playfully staying in control of both the roaring campfire and his beloved family and friends as they all gathered closely around his incredible strength, unwavering guidance and profound warmth will be deeply missed by his family, and everyone who had the beautiful privilege of sharing a campfire and a laugh with him. Roger is survived by his wife and all of his immediate family, His three brothers, Larry Bafus, Craig Bafus and Stan Woody - (Cynthia). And his two sisters Vickie Bafus Adams and Barbara Palanio - (Larry). There will be a local celebration of life filled with stories and love and it will be held at his daughter Marcy‘s Lake house at a later date. Grave side services will be held in Connell Washington. Also at a later date with full details to be announced. Arrangements are being managed with great care and tenderness by Bell Tower Funeral Home and Crematory in Post Falls, Idaho.
