Ronald Lee Richardson

October 12, 1944 — August 26, 2020

We are saddened to announce that Ron Richardson, age 75, of Rathdrum Id, peacefully passed away and joined the Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. Ron was a giant of a man in so many ways. He stood at 6’4” and those who didn’t know him were often intimidated by him because of his size and quiet ways, yet those close to him knew he was the nicest guy with the biggest heart. He truly stood out as a giant of a man in how much he loved everyone and everything around him. He showered his family with love, and he loved to create beautiful things to inspire happiness in others. He started his own company, Ironwood Creations, and spent years making beautiful metal and wood art that he sold throughout the Pacific Northwest at craft shows and farmers markets. He made so many wonderful friends while doing so. It always filled him with pride and joy to see his metal artwork in people’s yards and meant the world to him to have people appreciate his hard work. Before starting his own yard art company, he spent his earlier years working as a fabrication welder and was well known for his high quality work and for teaching others the trade. Ron loved to learn new things and was always studying about plants and music. He leaves behind memories of sounds of him humming or singing along with songs and the occasional bad cord as he worked on teaching himself to play guitar. He especially enjoyed listening to his country classics while working away in his shop on one of his art pieces. Everyone loved to find him working in his shop when stopping by and many will always treasure their “shop conversations” they got to have with him . He left a lasting mark on this world not only through his beautiful artwork but also through the love he gave his friends and family that will be passed on for generations. Ron is survived by his daughters: Dani Mitchell and Vicki Tomerlin; son-in-laws, Bryan Mitchell and Scott Tomerlin; grandchildren, Kaeleen Tobin, Brennan Hager, Sydney Hager and Jaxon Hager; grandson-in-law, Thomas Tobin, and great-grandson, Forest Tobin. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, you consider planting a tree in memory of Ron . Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love, who have been called according to his purpose.
