Sandy L. Kirsch, a beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, at the age of 76. Born in Portland, Oregon, and raised in Pasadena, California, Sandy later moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in the late 1960s. She married Richard Kirsch in 1973, embarking on a journey filled with love and commitment.
Sandy dedicated her professional life as an Executive Secretary in Real Estate before becoming the Office Manager at Prudential Insurance, where she worked diligently until her well-deserved retirement.
Her heart belonged to her cherished collies, and she was deeply involved in the collie community. Sandy joined the Inland Empire Collie Club (IECC) in the mid-1970s and was also a proud member of the Collie Club of America. Her unwavering dedication was evident as she served as Secretary, participated on the Board of Directors, and contributed to the show committee. In the 1990s, she took on the role of editor for “Tailwaggers,” the IECC Newsletter. Sandy's passion and commitment earned her the “Outstanding Member Award” in 1983, 1989, and 2023, reflecting her reputation as a knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful figure in the collie world.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband, Richard Kirsch, of Post Falls, ID; her daughter, Tammy Holzer, residing in Scottsdale, AZ; and her grandson, Dylan Holzer, in San Diego, CA. She is preceded in death by her son, Mike Kirsch, who passed away in October 2019. She is also survived by Mike's wife, Kathleen Kirsch, of Post Falls, ID; Kathy and Ron Isbell of Rathdrum, ID; Cheri and John Munoz of Tacoma, WA; Vonja Knox of Medford, OR; and several nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service to celebrate Sandy's life will be held at Bell Tower on June 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
