Shelba Jean Flock, lovingly known as "Jean," went home to our Lord on June 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 7, 1942, in Keota, Oklahoma to George and Mary Tennessee Sandlin, Jean graced us with her vibrant spirit for over eighty-three years. Her journey through life was marked by her infectious joy, unyielding love for family, and a passion for beauty in all forms.
Growing up in a family deeply rooted in farming, Jean traveled across California during her teenage years, eventually settling in the beautiful Napa Valley. Jean had a magical way of making everyone feel special, and her artistry extended beyond hair and makeup; it encompassed the very essence of her being—singing and dancing brought her boundless joy and forever illuminated the hearts of those around her.
On June 10, 1960, Jean married Ronald Flock. Together, they raised three wonderful sons, who were her pride and joy. Her legacy continues to thrive through Ronald and Guiana, Rick and Rhonda, and Randy and Tracy, along with her grandchildren Sarah (Neil), Trevor, Maddie, Joshua, and Hannah. With each family gathering, her warmth and laughter echoed through the years, creating lasting memories and bonds that would carry on through generations.
Jean's heart swelled with love for her family, especially her nieces Gale and Carla. Her heart was expansive, embracing not just her immediate family, but also the her great-grandchildren, Tatiana, Brooke, Nate, Jocelyn, and Jaylen.
While we mourn the loss of Jean, we take comfort in the knowledge that she has returned to the arms of her loved ones who preceded her in death—her devoted parents, five siblings, and her great-granddaughter, Destiny. They welcome her home with open arms, and our hearts will forever cherish the lessons she imparted and the love she shared.
Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will undoubtedly continue to dwell in our hearts and memories. Her profound influence on our lives will be felt for years to come. Jean's greatest day may have marked our hardest day, but her legacy will shine brightly as a reminder of the love that binds us all together.
