**In Loving Memory of Steven Tyler “Steve’O” Hutchin**
*July 23, 1991 - May 28, 2025*
It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Steven Tyler “Steve’O” Hutchin on May 28, 2025, in his home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. At just 33 years old, Steven’s vibrant spirit and warm presence have left an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who knew him.
Steven, born on July 23, 1991, in Missoula, Montana, to Diane (DJ) Geddes and William Hutchin, is the youngest brother of Rayne Geddes[MD1] and Julie Geddes. Later his dad married, adding younger sisters, Shelby, twins Elaina and Caryl, and Pennie. Their family journey brought them from Missoula to Polson, and ultimately to Post Falls, Idaho, where Steven graduated from Post Falls High School.
A natural caregiver, Steven's loving nature shone brightly during family gatherings. His nieces and nephew loved to sit in his lap and the safety they felt would ease them into a peaceful nap on his chest. Steven's skills in the kitchen were evident when he assisted in baking pies and making dishes such as Grandma Phyllis’s Snails, a variation of cinnamon rolls.
Steven dedicated countless hours to his work at Capone's Bar and Grill, starting as a dishwasher at eighteen. It became more than just a job; it was a place where he found a second family. His hard work, determination, and the kindness he showed everyone earned him a managerial position. To those who worked alongside him, Steven was not merely a colleague; he was family—a source of inspiration, laughter, and unwavering support.
Outside of work, Steven had a profound love for the great outdoors, often embarking on adventures hiking local trails, kayaking through tranquil waters, and camping with co-workers and friends. Steven frequently visited Silverwood Theme Park, and western-themed family pictures were traditionally taken to commemorate his birthday. His love for gaming was shared with friends at the Corner bar, where he enjoyed deep conversations. Steven’s ability to connect with people made every moment spent in his presence special.
Steven leaves behind a loving family: his mother Diane Geddes, father William Hutchin (Lainie), and sisters Rayne Geddes (Mike Denning), Julie Geddes, Shelby Jensen (Casey), Elaina Hutchin, Caryl Hutchin, and Pennie Hutchin, along with his maternal grandmother Phyllis Geddes and paternal grandparents Jerry and Joan Hutchin. He will be remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a great niece.
As we remember Steven, let us celebrate the light he brought into our lives and the love that he shared so freely with everyone he encountered. His legacy will continue to inspire us to be kind, adventurous, and to cherish every moment with those we hold dear.
To honor his life, celebrations will be held on July 14, 2025, at Ponderosa Golf Course in Coeur d’Alene, ID, from 4-8 PM, and in Missoula at Fort Missoula’s Meadowlark Shelter on July 26, 2025, from 6:30-9:30 PM.
