Vern Lee Rawlins 85, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away May 9, 2025 in Post Falls, Idaho. Born in Marlette, Michigan and later moved to Sylmar, California where he attended school in San Fernando, California before embarking on a fulfilling career. In his early years, he worked as a glazier, later transitioning to a role as a custodian for local schools. After years of dedicated service, he retired in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
On April 14, 1963, Vern married the love of his life, Alice A. Lopez, in Santa Rosa, California. Their journey together was filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. He was an avid outdoorsman, finding joy in fishing, shooting, hunting, camping, and working on car engines. Old cars held a special place in his heart, and his passion for them led to deep involvement in several car clubs during his earlier years. Beyond his hobbies, he was a devoted member of his church and valued time spent with family and friends above all else.
Vern is survived by his children Marlette Rawlins of Rathdrum, ID, Eric Rawlins and his wife Jodi Rawlins of Coeur d'Alene, ID, and Julie Jennings of Spokane, WA. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters Sharon Johnson of Spring, TX and Jan Beck of Peoria, AZ, his brother Gary Rawlins and his wife Lynda Rawlins of Las Vegas, NV, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
His life was one of passion, dedication, and kindness. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength that will be carried on by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
